well try this with ur phone hope it clears

it. turn off ur mobile. then follow the

folwing instructions.

press and hold the following 4 buttons till

the phones starts completely that hands

comes.

first the green button use for accepting

calls.
second the * key there on the keypad.
third the number 3 in ur keypad.
and finally the ON/OFF button on the top.



NOTE: all the phone memory will cleared

and ur phone will be as new.

this a method to format ur phone. so try it

out and then tell me.

option in settings of h/s
for formatting your handsset you have to

dial the no *#7370#   than it will ask a

code from you than you have to give the

code as 12345 which is the default code

for nokia..,

4. When the message 'Formating' appears

I had to hard format my N73 a while

back...
do this...* + 3 + green call button and

power on button...simultaneously don't

press the keys one at a time and wait...it

will work,but you lose everything...

I did everything same as you have

explained. Previously I use to format my

Nokia 7610 with the same method. But this

method is not working for N73. Phone

starts as usual. Only *#7370# works to

SOFT FORMAT the phone. Anybody knows

about HARD FORMAT...?

When your mobile is boot up click on
green + 3 + # on same time

Turn your device off.
Remove SIM card and MMC card (actually,

you do not need to remove these, but

after format remember to format memory

card and reboot phone).
Press and hold 3 keys; Green dial key, *

Star key, no. 3 key on keypad Together.
Turn your device on while you are pressing

the three buttons.
You should now see "Formatting .." on the

Screen! Leave the buttons now.
OR
You can remove the mmc but keep the sim

card and restart your phone.
Then press the keys *#7370#.
The phone would ask a confirmation.
Select yes.
Then it will ask for a code.
The code is 12345 (the default).
There you are! your phone will restart with

all the phone memory formatted.
