To set up Google Sync on a phone, please follow these steps:
1. Click the 'Menu' key and open the 'Organizer' or connectivity.
2. Select 'Synchronization' or sync
3. Select 'New Account' and enter 'Google Sync' or any name of your choice.
4. Enter the following values:
* Server address: https://m.google.com/syncml
* Username: your Google Account user name, e.g. you@googlemail.com
* Password: your Google password
* Connection: select the Internet access point for your carrier
* Applications: mark 'Contacts' and calenders only and click 'OK'
* App. settings: open 'Contacts' and for 'Database name' enter 'contacts' (lower case)same as calender, leave other fields blank
* Sync. interval: choose how frequently you would like to synchronize with Google
* Leave other settings unchanged
5. Click 'Save' to exit this screen and save your Sync profile.
6. Highlight your new Sync profile and press 'Start'.
then u connect via GPRS your phonebook and calenders are synchronized with gmail contact list and google calender.
Exporting gmail Contact list
1) Please Log in to your Gmail account.
2) Click 'Contacts' along the left side of any Gmail page.
3) Click 'Export' in the upper-right corner of your Contacts list.
4) Select the format in which you'd like to export your contacts' information.
5) Gmail CSV / Outlook CSV - there are 3 export formats are there.
6) Click 'Export Contacts.'
7.save to your computer.
another method to backup ur phonebook is sync with UNYK web.
same as gmail but the setting are changed. the instruction given below.
Configure manually
1. Go to Menu and choose Connectivity (on some devices this option is under Settings)
2. Select Synchronization
3. Select New account
4. Set Name: Unyk and press continue
5. Set Server address: http://sync.unyk.com/sync
6. Set Username (on some devices Server username): username
7. Set Password (on some devices Server password):
8. Set Connection: enter a working internet connection (if you don't have one, contact your mobile provider)
9. Select Applications
10. Mark Contacts and Calendar (on some devices Phonebook/Address Book and Appointments)
11. Select Application settings
12. Select Contacts (on some devices Phonebook/Address Book)
13. Set Database name: card
14. Press OK
15. Select Calendar (on some devices Appointments)
16. Set Database name: cal
17. Press OK
18. Go back once
19. Press Save to save the changes
